The Approval Process
Before your competition appears in the public competition list, it needs to be approved by a BoulderScoring admin. This ensures quality and prevents spam.
How approval works
- Create your comp — Fill out all the setup details in the app
- Request approval — Tap the "Request Approval" button in the app. This sends a notification to the BoulderScoring team with your comp details.
- Review — We review your competition to make sure everything looks good
- Approved — Once approved, your comp appears in the public list and climbers can find and join it
What we check
- Competition has a valid name and date
- Gym information is filled in
- Scoring is configured properly
- The comp appears to be a legitimate event
Before approval
Your competition still works before it's approved — climbers can join with the comp password and score normally. Approval just controls whether it shows up in the public discovery list.
This means you can test everything and even run your comp before requesting approval if you prefer to share the password directly.
Timeline
We aim to review approval requests within 24 hours. If your comp is time-sensitive, reach out through the contact page and we'll prioritize it.
