Teams

BoulderScoring supports team competitions alongside individual scoring. Teams are optional — skip this if your comp is individuals only.

Setting up teams

During comp setup, you create named teams. Climbers are assigned to a team when they register. Examples:

• Gym vs. gym teams
• Fun names for a social comp (e.g., "Team Crush", "Flashers", "Top Out")
• Corporate or school teams

Team scoring

Team scores are calculated by combining individual scores from team members. The team leaderboard runs alongside the individual leaderboards — climbers compete in both at the same time.

Assigning climbers to teams

When a climber registers for the comp, they select their team from the list you've created. You can also assign teams through the admin interface if needed.

Tip: If you want balanced teams, set them up in advance and assign climbers at check-in rather than letting them self-select.
